so don't do it unless necessary. And don't you forget what you assumed either, so it can't come back to bite you unexpectedly afterwards

Like at the end of the question where they ask you to mention all your assumptions. Right after you realise you can't figure out your units and you're several powers of ten out from where you thought you'd be...
