As a last resort for cleaning your pots and pans, soak them in hot soapy water and then use Brillo pads - they are awesome!

If you have a garden, my last resort is to leave them outside overnight. Slugs and snails will eat all the burnt-on food! Then you just have to wash the pans very carefully. It works! :)
